Objectives : This course provides an introduction to systematic theology, focusing on the influential work of Karl Rahner. By engaging with selected primary texts, students will gain a deeper understanding of Rahner’s theological methodology and his central themes.

Learning outcomes : Through the analysis of Rahners writings, the course aims to develop students’ ability to evaluate theological arguments and situate them within their historical context.

Contents : Becoming familiar with academic working techniques through the study of Karl Rahner’s writings. Students will learn to interpret his texts and place them within a theological-historical framework.

Methodology : After initial lectures on methodology, the course moves to a student-led approach. For each session, one or two students will take the lead by presenting a text analyzed prior to class. The texts will then be discussed collectively.

Means of evaluation : All participants are expected to engage actively in discussions, read the assigned texts, and deliver presentations. To complete the seminar, students are required to submit a final paper of 10 to 15 pages.
