SL2013  SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP (A.Y. 2025/2026)

Objectives: the Social Entrepreneurship course is designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to create and manage ventures that address social issues and generate positive change. By the end of the course, students should be able to: understand the core concepts and principles of social entrepreneurship; identify and analyze social problems that can be addressed through entrepreneurial solutions; develop innovative and sustainable business models that balance social impact with financial viability.

Learning outcomes: by the end of the course, students will be able to analyze social needs, design innovative and sustainable solutions, develop a social enterprise model, and assess its impact, gaining both practical and theoretical skills to drive positive change.

Contents: The course covers this range of topics: introduction to Social Entrepreneurship and key differences from traditional entrepreneurship; exploring different business models that combine profit with purpose, including case studies of successful social enterprises; tools and frameworks for assessing and managing the social impact of entrepreneurial activities; strategies for securing funding through grants, investments, and other revenue-generating methods.

Methodology: activities in the class are composed of lectures in person, case studies and group discussions

Means of Evaluation: students will work on a real-life project to apply the concepts learned and present their social enterprise ideas.
