XP201V  SAFETY IN A CHANGING WORLD. INTERDISCIPLINARY AND INTERCULTURAL OBSERVATIONS (A.Y. 2025/2026)

Objectives: The course will introduce to the concept of safety and Safeguarding, as well as explore the concept of safe relationships from an intercultural and interdisciplinary approach. It will also provide knowledge about a changing world, culture, and childhood.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of this course, students will be able to assess their own cultures regarding safety in relationships as they respectfully dialogue with one another. They will be able to recognize how cultures influence the way relationships develop in each given context.

Content : Definition of culture, changing world, safety, and childhood. Deepening of these concepts from different perspectives and by means of cultural reflection.

Methodology : The course will combine lectures, readings, and seminar discussion, and will focus on a range of selected texts.

Means of evaluation : Evaluation will be based on class participation and written papers.
