Objectives: The course will bring students to reflect on the importance of a mature relationships, in relation to oneself, in order to set healthy boundaries and create safe relationships. It will also give the students the chance to reflect on topics of. sexuality from both a psychological and a theological perspective.
A reflection on homosexuality and sexual orientation will be involved.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of this course, the students will be able to
write and express the history of their sexuality, becoming aware of the characteristics of their culture as central elements in a person’s. They will be able to recognize the importance of boundaries and be able to identify the main elements of a mature and healthy relationship, which may be a defense against any kind of abuse. They will also have the chance to reflect on sexual orientation and how crucial it is to consider within their culture context in order to prevent abuses.
Content : Confronting various cultural attitudes towards sexuality with regard to sexual education and gender roles; healthy relationships and friendships, psychosexual maturity; adequate integration of sexual desires/fantasies; issues related to homosexuality.
Methodology: The course will combine lectures, readings, and seminar discussion and will focus on a range of selected texts.
Means of evaluation : Evaluation will be based on class participation and reflections.
