Objectives: The course will introduce students to the topics of dysfunction in institutions and how it can lead to abuse. It will also present various contexts where dysfunction can be found and its main dynamics; Church, NGOs and educational systems.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course, the students will be able to recognize and deal with the main characteristics of a dysfunctional institution, in relation to the Church, NGOs, and educational systems.

Content : Traumatization of systems; dysfunctional institutions, institutional cultures, accountability, compliance, and lack of integrity.

Methodology: The course will combine lectures, readings, and seminar discussion.

Means of evaluation: Evaluation will be based on class participation and written papers.
