Objectives: Delving mainly in the Jesuit Tradition, the course will introduce students to the main dimensions of leadership and will propose them practical exercises to develop personal and group skills for a better leadership of organizations and networks.

Learning outcomes: Learn the different functions and roles of a manager.

Learn the different levels at which management/leadership takes place (individual, organization, network). Practice individual and group skills that will enable students to lead better.

Contents: Session 1- Introduction: Introduction to the course- The Triangle of Leadership (Leaders-Folllowers-Mission); Values of a leader – Witness. Session 2- Leadership Clarification: Referents and Managers; Authentic Leadership. Session 3- Values, Vocation and Leadership. Session 4- Psychology of the leader – MBTI. Session 5- - Making good decisions; Discernment. Session 6– Leaders-Followers (1): Daodejing. Session 7- Leaders-Followers (2) Conflicts of Values (Mary Gentile). Session 8- Leaders-Followers (3) Discernment in Common: Case: Welcoming indigenous people in the University Campus - Fernando Ponce (Rector of University); Theory about Discernment in Common. Session 9- Leaders-Followers-Mission (1)- The culture: Dynamics of Values. Session 10- Leaders-Followers-Mission (2) – Strategy- Apostolic Planning (Internal Stakeholders) C. Kheng. Session 11 – Leaders-Followers-Mission (3) – Strategy – Apostolic Planning (External Stakeholders) – (Mission Process Jesuits). Session 12 – Leaders-Followers-Mission (4)- Apostolic planning in the Church – Synodality.

Methodology: Students will be invited to read and reflect personally on the different subjects before each session. In class, small group discussions and a general debate will be monitored by the professor.

Means of evaluation: Written Final Report on the main learnings of the course; comment of this Final Report in an oral interview with the professor.
