Description
The goal of this course is to advance the student’s knowledge of the morphology and syntax of New Testament Greek and to impart those skills needed for a grammatical and stylistic analysis of biblical texts.
Method
The class sessions will be largely dedicated to a close reading of the Greek text of Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians, with special attention given to the grammatical and stylistic analysis of the text. In the course of the semester, time will be set aside for a formal and systematic review of the following grammatical topics: 1) syntax of conjunctions and particles; 2) meaning and function of prepositions; 3) conditional sentences.
Evaluation
The student’s progress will be measured on the basis of a mid-semester exam and a final exam
