- Licentiate in MIssiology
The Licentiate in Theology with a specialization in Missiology consists of three areas of focus:
1. Mission Ad Gentes and Inter Gentes promotes the “missionary conversion” of the whole Church, called to be a “Church that goes forth.” In particular, it focuses on the initial evangelization of “peoples, human groups, and socio-cultural contexts where Christ and his Gospel are not known” and on the growth of particular churches.
2. Mission in Contemporary Societies promotes “evangelization through discernment of the signs of the times” and the scientific study of the complex social, cultural, economic, and political conditions that characterize contemporary societies.
3. Mission, Dialogue, and Religions offers a course of study and scientific exploration of the various dimensions of interreligious dialogue in relation to the universal mission of the Church. Characterized by an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach, it integrates the study of the theology of religions with that of comparative theology of religions, the theology of dialogue, and contextual theologies, without neglecting the contribution of the human sciences and an adequate knowledge of the various religions.
