Ancient and Modern Oriental Languages Courses

The Pontifical Oriental Institute's mission organizes semester-long courses in ancient Oriental languages (Greek, Latin, Armenian, Coptic, Ethiopic, Georgian, Paleo-Slavic, Syriac, Sogdian) and modern languages (Arabic, Greek, Romanian, Russian, Turkish, Italian).

To be activated, courses require a minimum of four enrollees. Classes are in the afternoon, 50 minutes long, and are held twice a week. Up to the first level, alphabetic phonetics, grammar, syntax, spelling, phonology, morphology and verbs are developed.
