- Verso nuovi occhi
Opening and closing our eyes, looking and observing are gestures that we perform in every moment of life. This simple action contains many meanings and, throughout our lives, we learn to look at reality in different ways. What are our eyes like? What type of look do we live towards things? The book "Towards new eyes. The art of seeing the Whole" takes you on a journey to discover different forms of looking and, therefore, approaches to the world, to the “Whole". In a concise but profound way, artists, philosophers and scientists from ancient times to the present day are questioned, from a European context, but also with references to Buddhism. One of the fundamental authors in this "journey into seeing" is Romano Guardini, but also Eckhart and Giotto, Leonardo and Rembrandt, and then mysticism and science with Teresa of Avila and Einstein, up to some considerations of Pope Francis. The challenge launched and the proposal of the short essay is to "look with new eyes", beyond disciplines, in a multifaceted way, cultivating that sincerity of the look which alone allows us to truly see reality.
