Un Dio violento? La Bibbia tra guerra e pace

The course will address the highly topical theme of war and violence in the light of biblical texts: is Scripture truly a book of peace? How, then, to read those texts that present a violent image of God and that seem to link war and violence directly to the divine will (for example those on the conquest of the land, the imprecatory psalms, the violent images of the Apocalypse)? There will be a critical engagement with some texts of Scripture, in the light of an exegetical approach and, together, of a theological hermeneutics, starting from Dei Verbum up to Verbum Domini."
