Art and religion have been connected since ancient times. Indeed, alongside the spoken word, artistic forms have for centuries spread religious experiences and knowledge. This year marks the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis, the first Christian mystic to have a profound relationship with art. From his perspective, we want to look at other religions and ask ourselves which essential concepts form the basis of the relationship between art and mysticism.
