Saint John Henry Newman Doctor of the Universal Church: His Relevance Today

The Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Gregorian University, in collaboration with the International Centre of Friends of Newman, the Nicola Centre at the University of Notre Dame and the National Institute of Newman Studies, has organised an academic symposium on 'Saint John Henry Newman. Universal Doctor of the Church: His Relevance Today", which will take place on 31 October 2025 in the Aula Magna of the Gregorian University.

The Symposium, with the participation of renowned Newman experts from various countries around the world, is open to all interested parties. Simultaneous translation into Italian and English will be provided. On the eve of the proclamation of St John Henry Newman as Doctor of the Church by Pope Leo XIV (1 November 2025 in St Peter's Square), the various presentations will seek to show the relevance of the eminent English theologian's doctrine today.
