Mendicità a Confronto: Ordini Mendicanti fra Regola e Realtà

The figure of the mendicant emerged during the late Middle Ages in response to specific social challenges. Since then, mendicant friars of different spiritualities have played a significant role in shaping the Church throughout history. However, their charisms have undergone profound changes over the centuries.

During the 2025/26 academic year, six historians, memberts of the Augustinian, Dominican, Carmelite, Franciscan, Servite and Capuchin orders will present their concept of mendicancy in a lecture series, aiming to reach a mutual comparison to achieve a broader understanding of this areaof religious life.
