Le Migrazioni al Femminile: Percorsi di Emancipazione

Female presence has always played a significant, dynamic and multifaceted role in Italian immigration. However, interpretations of the phenomenon and policy strategies have often overlooked the profiles, journeys and protagonism of migrant women, assimilating their experience to that of men or identifying it in passive terms. The meeting proposes a change of perspective. By re-examining immigration from the perspective of women and adopting a gender lens, it will offer a detailed and articulated vision, capable of reflecting the heterogeneity and dynamism that characterise the experience of women in Italian immigration. The analyses proposed will range from the historical to the contemporary, with particular attention to employment and socio-economic integration, as well as paths to participation and citizenship.
