- L'Archivio: un patrimonio senza eredi?
The distinctions with which we view things evolve over time. What was once considered a valuable legacy may today appear as a useless burden. For the Jesuits, archives were not only a powerful armamentarium for governing and building their institutional identity, but also an essential connection to their history. After the restoration of the Society (1814) and up to the middle of the 20th century, the archives were searched for resources to carry on the controversies of those years. In this study day we want to reflect on the conditions of possibility to transmit this heritage, so that it can still surprise us and speak to the present. The day is divided into two sessions: in the morning there will be three lectures and in the afternoon a seminar dedicated to the Fondo Collegio Romano (1824-1870).
