LA VITA DELLE COSE

The history of the Pontifical Gregorian University can be told in many ways: through documents, the academic work that has accompanied it over the centuries, and the network of its alumni who have spread its influence throughout the world. But it can also be told through its heritage: by observing the traces of past generations in objects. The state of conservation of its heritage reflects how much — and how — it believes in and builds its future. Every choice of care, protection or abandonment speaks to the way a community perceives its continuity over time. In this context, on December 4th (Room C009, 5:30 PM) the first results of the cataloging work of the heritage housed within the Collegium Maximum will be presented: an essential step in recognizing, understanding, and appreciating the material memory that sustains our history and, with it, the very possibility of building the future.
