La Speranza minacciata

The second Symposium in honour and memory of Fr. Ugo Vanni SJ, a teacher to many of us and author of countless biblical studies that are still fruitful and relevant today, aims to open up avenues of eschatological reflection useful for theology and for the Church, in the certainty that the eschaton, the last, has acquired, with the Paschal event, a definitive vertical quality: 'it is the best, the most, even the excellent'. Christian hope, though threatened by the anti-kingdom of the Dragon, is unshakeable: the end of history, glimpsed in the Day of the Lord, is our golden rod with which to measure daily life. The symposium presentations cover various fields of research, from the Bible to theology and art, demonstrating the solidity of the theological virtue that is hope. Each speaker has a maximum of 20 minutes, and the full text of each presentation, which is more detailed and expanded than the oral version, will be collected for publication in the proceedings.
