La narrazione nelle Religioni

Goals: The aim of the workshop is to combine philosophical studies with an in-depth study of religions, in order to make those who study philosophy more aware of the human and spiritual richness of religions and those who study religions more aware of the importance of philosophical method and reasoning. Since human beings have constructed narratives to answer the big questions of life, the aim of the workshop is 1. to analyse the use of narratives in Greek mythology, classical tragedy and the biblical context; 2. to understand how a narrative is constructed and why it works (drawing in particular on the thinking of P. Ricoeur).

Contents: The workshop will involve six lecturers, three from the Faculty of Philosophy and three from the Centre for Interreligious Studies, each of whom will give a two-hour lesson. The exercise will be carried out by examining some classic texts from Greek mythology, classical tragedy, the biblical context, the sacred texts of various religions and some essays from contemporary literature.
