L'immagine in movimento nello spazio sacro?

The seminar, inspired by the recent passing of Bill Viola, will provide an opportunity to reflect on video art through the lens of its foremost practitioner. We will explore this performance art and its suitability for use within sacred spaces, as well as its potential for other meaningful applications. As an ecclesiastical academic and scientific unit, we have a duty to offer appropriate interpretations, guidance, and proposals—in harmony with the Magisterium and the mens of the Church—regarding all artistic expressions that serve, or could serve, as instruments of the Church’s mission (worship, catechesis, and charity).
