La Spiritualità cristiana nel XXI secolo

The 2026 Forum will open with a reflection on the Encyclical Magnifica Humanitas of Pope Leo XIV, assumed as a point of inspiration to start the work and widen the horizon of the reflection. Starting from this initial stimulus, the meeting intends to deepen the development of the study of Christian spirituality in the first quarter of the XXI century, paying attention both to the reception of the discipline in recent decades and to the perspectives that open up for the future. The path of the Forum will be articulated around two major guidelines. The first will be dedicated to the reception and current relevance of Christian spirituality from the end of the twentieth century to today. In this perspective, a reading of the last twenty-five years will be proposed, with attention to the evolution of the discipline, to the main novelties emerged since the beginning of the century, to the most significant influences and to the publications that have marked the path of the Study Center. The second guideline will be oriented towards future perspectives. Attention will be directed to the cultural, social and ecclesial challenges that question Christian spirituality today and to the contribution that it will be able to offer in the coming decades to research, formation and the life of the Church. In this framework, the Forum proposes itself as an opportunity for discussion and discernment on the present and on the future of Christian spirituality, favoring the identification of new tracks of research and deepening.
