Giovanni Paolo I: Iustitia et Pax «Tutelare e incrementare la pace in questo mondo turbato»

The international conference, organised by the Vatican Foundation John Paul I in collaboration with the Pontifical Gregorian University and the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences, will take place in the main lecture theatre of the Pontifical Gregorian University on Tuesday 13 October 2026.

Following two study days at the Pontifical Gregorian University dedicated to the sources of the Magisterium of John Paul I — the first on 13 May 2022 on the documents from his private archive and the second on 24 November 2023 on his personal library — the Vatican John Paul I Foundation, in collaboration with the Pontifical Gregorian University, has continued its academic and research activities by focusing on the six volumus of Pope Luciani’s pontifical programme, to each of which a conference will be dedicated over the coming years. The conference on 12 November 2024 centred on the Second Vatican Council and its legacy; from Luciani’s perspective, its premises, its message and its implementation up to the Jubilee Year of 1975 were examined.
