- Frérisme and Jihadism: Two Strategic Modalities of Contemporary Islamism
Do Western-based Islamisms vary in scopes and strategies with respect to those in Muslim contexts? How to interpret the religious and cultural claims expressed by Muslim minorities? The anthropologist Florence Bergeaud-Blacker intervenes on these much-debated issues. She will analyze the strategies implemented by Islamist movements in Western contexts, focusing on jihadism and on the so-called “frérisme”. Her approach will be discussed by the political scientist Sihem Djebbi.
