Beatificazione delle martiri della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, Suor Christophora Klomfass CSC e XIV Compagne.

On 9–10 October 2025, the Pontifical Gregorian University will host an academic conference dedicated to the Sisters of the Congregation of St. Catherine, beatified on 31 May 2025 in Braniewo (Poland). They were killed at the end of the Second World War in the territory of the then Diocese of Warmia by soldiers of the Red Army. Until the very end, they remained faithful to Christ, defending their dignity, purity, and vocation, while serving the sick and those in need.

The beatification of their martyrdom today invites reflection on the defense of the dignity of women, on the value of purity, fidelity to vocation, and solidarity with the victims of violence. The conference aims to highlight the historical and spiritual significance of this witness in the perspective of the universal Church.

The central moment will be the plenary session on 10 October, during which His Eminence Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, will deliver a keynote lecture. The event will be an occasion for reflecting on the contemporary relevance of the witness of the Martyr Sisters of St. Catherine.
