The academic year 2025-2026 celebrates the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of History and Cultural Heritage of the Church, successor to the Faculty of Ecclesiastical History (1932-2005) and the Advanced Course in Cultural Heritage of the Church (1991-2005), created ‘both to investigate and highlight the historical development of the Church and to study and promote the historical and artistic heritage of the Christian tradition.’ The Faculty is structured into two departments: Church History and Cultural Heritage of the Church, which are staffed by permanent, invited and guest lecturers, both lay and religious, from Italian and international universities and scientific and ecclesiastical institutions. The conference Standing the Test of Time. Twenty Years of the Faculty of Church History and Cultural Heritage aims to be a moment of reflection on the study of Church History and Church Cultural Heritage through historiographical analysis, thematic reflections and future perspectives.
