The award ceremony for the 2025 Henri de Lubac Prize took place on May 22. The Prize is awarded to a doctoral thesis in French and to a doctoral thesis in another language, defended in one of the Pontifical Roman Universities. The prize was awarded by H.E. Florence Mangin, Ambassador of France to the Holy See, and by the new President of the jury, Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline.
The prize for the French section was awarded to Fr. Matthieu Bernard (Faculty of Theology - Pontifical Gregorian University) for the doctoral dissertation "L'Écriture, l'Esprit et les saints. L'herméneutique de saint Bonaventure", moderated by Prof. Amaury Begasse de Dhaem S.J.
The Henri de Lubac Prize, organized by the French Embassy to the Holy See and the Institut français - Centre Saint-Louis (IFCSL), seeks to promote the academic excellence of academic dissertations that stand out for their originality and their contribution to theological, legal and philosophical reflection.
