The Gregorian University Foundation (GUF) is pleased to present the organization's 2024 Impact Report. The Report includes updates offered by new GUF President Fr. Thomas J. Merkel S.J., Director William J. Whelan III, as well as news on operating fund, funding highlights, foundation grants, initiatives, programs and events promoted by the GUF. It also presents a complete list of donations received.
This year has seen a change in the Presidency and we wish to express our gratitude to the previous President, Fr. Michael McFarland S.J., for his service. «Fr. Merkel brings with him not only all the great pastoral skills that we all associate with Jesuits, but he also has an impressive resume of fundraising successes and philanthropic academic training», writes Director William J. Whelan III, introducing the new President. «Notwithstanding 2024 being a transition year at the top of our team, Fr. McFarland and Fr. Merkel, along with Senior Advisor Fr. William George SJ. and the rest of our amazing staff, completed another outstanding year of raising much-needed funds to send to Rome». In fact, 100 new individual donors were added during the year.
To recognize the success of his four and a half years as president, the Council has launched a special appeal to raise funds for scholarships in Father McFarland's honor.
