On the occasion of the third edition of the "Ghislain Lafont" Lectio, doctoral students and young researchers are invited to propose speeches and reflections that make their research interact with the perspectives opened up by Ghislain Lafont from his book Structures et methode dans la Somme theologique de saint Thomas d'Aquin (1961, 1996). Those interested are invited to send a short biography and an abstract of 1,000 characters by 30 April 2025 to: umanesimo@lumsa.it
Proposals will be evaluated by the Lectio's scientific committee, composed of Professors Stella Morra (Pontifical Gregorian University), Andrea Grillo (Pontifical Athenaeum Sant'Anselmo) and Stefano Biancu (Lumsa University). Acceptance will be communicated by 7 May 2025. Presentations must not exceed 10 minutes. They may be accompanied by slides and delivered in Italian, French, English and Spanish. The Lectio "Ghislain Lafont" 2025, will take place on 16 May 2025 at the LUMSA University, and will have Prof. Giovanni Grandi (Università di Trieste) as keynote speaker.
The “Ghislain Lafont” Lectio stems from an agreement signed from the Pontificial Gregorian University with the Pontifical Athenaeum St Anselmo and the Libera Università Maria Santissima Assunta (LUMSA), in order to honour and keep alive the memory of the Benedictine theologian who died in May 2021. The "Ghislain Lafont" Lectio will take place annually and will be hosted in rotation by one of the sponsoring universities. The first will be held at the LUMSA (2022), while in 2023 it will be held at the Pontifical Athenaeum St Anselmo and, in 2024, at the Gregorian University; and so on in rotation, in the following years. The organisation is assigned to the "Alberto Hurtado" Faith and Culture Centre.
