The Statute of the Vatican Foundation Joseph Ratzinger - Benedict XVI provides for the expiry of the terms of office of all institutional bodies every five years. As the previous five-year term ended in 2025, the Secretariat of State, to which the Foundation reports, has proceeded with their renewal and the appropriate changes, announcing on 27 January 2026 the appointment of Rev. Prof. Roberto Regoli, Full Professor of the Faculty of History and Cultural Heritage of the Church at the Pontifical Gregorian University, as the new President.
