Ancient and modern language courses at the Pontifical Oriental Institute

The mission of the Pontifical Oriental Institute organizes semester-long courses in ancient languages (Armenian, Coptic, Ethiopic, Georgian, Paleo-Slavic, Syriac, Sogdian) and modern languages (Arabic, Greek, Romanian, Russian, Turkish).

To be activated, courses require a minimum of four enrollees. Classes are in the afternoon, 50 minutes long, and are held twice a week. Up to the first level, alphabetic phonetics, grammar, syntax, spelling, phonology, morphology and verbs are developed.

For information on costs (where applicable), schedules and programs see the 2025-2026 Yearbook, or contact segreteria@orientale.it
