Objectives: The course aims to explore the Church as a community rooted in the Trinitarian life of God, examining its biblical, theological, and historical foundations, as well as its implications for contemporary ecclesial life and mission.

Learning outcomes: By the end of the course, students will be able to analyze the concept of the Church as community , interpret key biblical and theological sources, and critically assess different models of ecclesial com‧munity in light of contemporary challenges.

Contents: Biblical foundations of ecclesial community; patristic and theological developments; the Church as community in Vatican II; commu‧nity, sacramentality, and mission; authority, participation, and synodality; the Church as a community in diverse cultural contexts.

Methodology: Lectures, guided reading of primary and secondary the‧ological texts, group discussions, and case studies.

Criteria of evaluation: Active participation, presentation in class and final oral examination.
