The Doctorate is divided into:
• Cursus ad doctoratum, until the delivery of the Topic;
• Schola Doctoralis, during the first and second years;
• Research period, from the approval of the Topic to the presentation of the Project;
• Delivery and defense of the Dissertation.
The third cycle is aimed at the drafting and discussion of a scientific research paper and concludes with a Doctorate in Theology with a specialization in Missiology. It aims to prepare students to acquire a systematic understanding of subjects concerning the Mission Ad Gentes and Inter Gentes, the Mission in contemporary societies, and the Mission, dialogue, and religions, as well as methodological mastery of research associated with these fields: the dissertation should demonstrate interdisciplinary competence and attention to the religious dimension of human reality.
The Schola Doctoralis is a space for discussion, sharing, and intellectual growth under the guidance of the Dean or his delegate, in collaboration with other faculty members. Learning the meaning and typical procedures of the various stages of the doctoral process is just one of the unique aspects of this program. The meetings, held approximately twice a year, will be of various kinds: research methodology, discussion of selected topics of common interest, evaluation and sharing of the program. The calendar of Schola Doctoralis meetings will be announced during the academic year. Participation is mandatory.
