Diploma in Matrimonial Jurisprudence

The Diploma comprises Seminars on Jurisprudence about various causes of nullity, alternating with Reading Courses regarding marriage, tribunals, different types of canonical processes and related medical issues. The Seminar lecturers, after presenting the doctrine and theory on a particular ground of nullity, will distribute summary sample case files and acts related to the topic treated in that Seminar. Students take turns drafting the Advocate’s defense, writing up the Defender of the Bond’s observations, and preparing the Judge's sentence. Finally, after the work has been evaluated, the lecturer moderates a group discussion on the case presentations.

The language used in teaching and interaction is Italian and the reading materials are in Italian and Latin. The assignments can be completed in any of the official languages of the University, to be arranged at the professor’s discretion and according to his or her proficiencies.
